Piazza Armerina

Piazza Armerina is a town of 20,000 inhabitants located on Erei mounts, in central Sicily, 700 m altitude and 30 Kms far from Enna. The city, among the major landmarks of the province, is surrounded by forests of the Ronza park,  the archaeological site of Montagna di Marzo, also wrapped in the green, and also the nature reserve Rossomanno Grottascura Bellia, part of which falls in its territory.

Piazza Armerina, famous worldwide for the mosaics of the Roman Villa del Casale, has a beautiful old town dominated by the baroque cathedral, which occupies the highest position (721 m) and around the old, characterized by narrow streets and medieval beautiful Renaissance and Baroque palaces such as Palazzo Trigona, and just this far from the Castello Aragonese.

The historical city center is a concentration of history, rich in churches, palaces, convents and roads, which goes back in time and offers a unique past, but which deserves to be rediscovered.
Another feature is the four quarters of the medieval city each year are competing for the banner of the patron saint, Mary of Victories, during the Palio dei Normanni in August.

Piazza Armerina is a city 's arts and culture, perfect for people who want to spend a nice relaxing holiday. It is indeed a happy marriage between the work of nature and intervention of man. Approximately 20,000 hectares of green and lush forests will mitigate the climate during the hot summer days and make the ideal holiday location.
